H.R. 2234: The 21st Century Health Information Act of 2005

• Allows Medicare and Medicaid funding to be used to advance the development and implementation of information technology, including electronic health records (EHRs).
• Adjusts Medicare payments to physicians who participate in health information networks to improve the quality of patient care.
• Allows Medicaid funding to be used to develop and implement regional health information networks.
